Description

These are among the most traditional sarees of India, that are woven on looms made out of ropes and wood in the villages. They are entirely woven by master weavers in different colors using fabrics like cotton and even silk. Solid colors with interesting border variations or prints on the body give them a striking look that adds to the comfort of wearing these sarees. Block printing is the process of printing patterns utilizing engraved wooden blocks. This is the earliest, simplest, and slowest of all methods of textile printing. This is, however, capable of yielding highly artistic results, some of which are unobtainable by any other method.
